Gippy Grewal is back in the limelight with his new single titled Nai Shad Da. The music video for this song features Serbian model Natasa Stankovic who we’ve seen in a number of Bollywood films like Satyagraha and Fukrey Returns. In the vocals department, Gippy is given company by Gurlez Akhtar.
Nai Shad Da has the female voice asking the male to give up alcohol, while the male keeps refusing to do so. But as is the case with every Punjabi dance number these days, plenty more stuff has been added to the mix. This includes bhangra beats, energetic electronic music and of course, the unrelenting flamboyance of the lead singer.
The singing particularly stands out among the music though. The voices of both Gippy and Gurlez are up to standard when it comes to adding the Punjabi touch to the whole affair. Both of them create a unique energy which makes the song catchy. The music for this track has been composed by Jaani, who has also written the lyrics for it.
As for the video, it’s nothing extraordinary. The standard trope of the lead singer bring extravagant and the female artist showcasing sensual dance moves has been used in this one. The visual effects too don’t end up being impressive at all. Natasa Stankovic seems to be trying hard to give some believable expressions, but is failing hard at it.
Gippy Grewal’s Car Nachdi which was released earlier this year, and featured none other than Bohemia in it, has become quite a hit over the months. A testament to this fact is that its YouTube video already has more than 37 million views.
Nai Shad Da too is expected to be a big hit, as it has garnered almost 5 million views in just 2 days.
