Aiyaary Release Date Postponed To Avoid Clash With Padmavat And Padman

Padmavat and Padman to wrestle at the box office while Aiyaari moved to 9 February!

 

The Republic Day Weekend release or any public holiday release date for that matter is something all filmmakers make a beeline for. That’s because of the huge audience these weekends usually attract to the theaters. Last year it was Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil that released on Republic Day and clashed at the box office.

Similarly, this year too there was not one, not two but three releases lined up to release on the Republic Day weekend!Deepika Padukone’s Padmavat, Akshay Kumar’s Padman and Siddharth Malhotra’s Aiyaary. But the latest buzz doing the rounds is that the makers of Aiyaary have decided to postpone the film to a later date.

All three films were to release on 25 January. While Padmavat and Padman both are to release as scheduled, it is being said that Aiyaari will now hit the theaters only on 9 February. However, there has been no official announcement by the makers so far.

Aiyaary is directed by Neeraj Pandey, and it features Siddharth as an army officer sharing a mentor-protege bond with Manoj Bajpai and is based on a real-life incident that revolves around two army officers.

Padmavat was earlier set to release on 1 December but had to be postponed owing to the clashes with the Karni Sena.regarding the story of Rani Padmavati. While Padman and Aiyaari were lined up for a Republic day release, until the speculations that Padmavat might release on 26 January! The makers of PadMan then decided to prepone the release date of the film and announced that they were releasing the biopic a day before, on 25 January However, unluckily for them, the makers of Padmavat announced the release date as 25 January too! Aiyaary was then pushed to 9 February to avoid the box office clash.

It will be interesting to watch both Padmavat and Padman wrestle at the box office on 25 January, while the makers of Aiyaari have made a wise move!
