Suppose you have recently joined a position which you were really looking forward to. It was a job which you really wanted to do but on the very first day, you got to know that you were catfished. What should you do in such a case? Catfishing candidates mean alluring them with a lucrative job offer and then fooling them. When your job this to you, there is not much that you can do. It can be very frustrating and a lot embarrassing. You have to deal with everything trickily. So, here are a few things that you might do to save yourself from such a situation.
Keep Your Calm
It might be a very bad position for you but you need to understand a few things. Your boss might be on leave and the HR department might not be able to plan your orientation properly. Although this should not happen, still you might just give your company a benefit of doubt. It might be just for a few days and you might land up in your desired position once everything gets working. So, be patient.
Give It A Chance
We do not get everything that we wish for in life. Our life is planned in a different way than what we look out for. So, why don’t you try to make yourself feel at home once you join the firm? Try to gel with your co-workers, get to know about your company and it’s operations. It can take even a year to adjust in a new workplace, however, whether you will like it or not in the company can be decided within a week. So, just give it a chance!

Talk To Your Manager
If you have already tried out everything and still nothing is happening as per your expectations, try to have a one-to-one session with your manager or boss. Request them to meet you as early as possible and try to talk to them about everything that’s bothering you. They might not even know that you do not like your current position so, it’s better to let them know yourself. However, make sure that you do not blame them for catfishing you. Be polite and build an agile relationship with them.
Search For Options
It’s completely fine to leave a job and find something of your choice. Sometimes things just don’t work the way it should. So, it’s always better to take a jump from the ship you are already on. Apply for a new job, go for interviews and don’t worry, it’s absolutely justified.
Always remember, you can always walk away from the things which you don’t like. So, just be patient and chalk out the options. All the best and don’t lose hope!
