Often there is so much to drive us towards our goals, and little to help us introspect. When this happens, we experience a rush to succeed and reach our career goals. We often forget the path we are taking, when we are in a hurry to succeed. But this could only lead to regrets and remorse in the future. As the path is as important as the destination.
There are some things that we should never compromise while building our career. Some opportunities may present themselves, which may provide an easier route out, but they inevitable bring us regret.

So, what are the three things you should never compromise when building your career.
Stand By Your Standards
Integrity is a choice, and while it is influenced by a myriad of factors, it cannot be faked. Whatever may be the situation, whether there is a crisis, or a deadline to follow, stand by your morals and principles. Not only is this important for your own happiness, but it may also ruin your work reputation if you are caught cheating at work to meet a deadline. It may take eons for the boss to trust you again.
Along with integrity, Kaajal Noorani, Publications Officer at Pidilite India Ltd, says that passion is equally important. She says, “Passion and integrity are paramount pillars that will help you remain on the correct track towards achieving your career goals.”
Health Should Remain A Priority
In the pursuit of a great career, many compromise on their health and well-being. Much of this has to do with the ever- complicated issue of work-life balance and how to stay competitive and ahead of the curve. Even Jack Ma says that people who do not prioritise health, forget that it is the main capital when you want to invest in your career. No amount of skill or experience helps, if you are suffering from weak health.
Never Forget Your Friends
While climbing the professional ladder, it is important to make time for friends and family. Because if you forget to remain connected with them, and only focus on professional networking, it could get pretty lonely on top of the ladder. Also, often there are some issues that we cannot discuss with our LinkedIn contacts. At such times, it is best to call up a school friend. They also help you stay grounded and provide honest feedback.
These three facets should never be compromised when building a great career.
