Business studies might have taught you different meanings of goals and missions and visions but here we are only talking about one thing- “what do you want?” Your planning begins by first understanding that. It could be anything. It could be something as simple as finishing an article to as complicated as becoming the largest seller of your city. Just know what you want and then, plan accordingly. Once you are sure about the desired end result, you can formulate the tasks and activities to help yourself get there!
The Time Factor
Your plan is not a plan if the time factor is not taken into consideration. You cannot have an open ended goal. If you know what you want, you should also consider knowing by when you want it. Only then will your plan make any sense. Make logical timelines for your plan and the basis of that, schedule your tasks and activities.

Not everything will go according to the plan. Hence, you must have clear priorities. You must know that at a given point of time, which task holds more importance than the other. This is how you understand the true essence of each and every task and activity involved. If your planning process does not involve setting priorities, you will end up confused and misinformed at some point or the other. And then, you might end up taking the wrong decision. Hence, always set your priorities straight.
Flexibility During Planning, Not After
Be very flexible when it comes to choosing different ways and technologies during the planning process. Innovation and creativity are the keys to extraordinary success. You never know when and which new practice could help get your work done faster and better. But, at the same time, do not be flexible with your plans. Try to stick with the plan as much as possible. You made these plans for a reason and after enough deliberations. Trust yourself and move on with the plan until unless it is not viable to do so!
A lot of people have started believing in spontaneity instead of planning. But spontaneous execution of work can never earn you success in the long run. Start planning your work today!
