Before you sit down to plan your week, it is imperative to glance through your planner to see what task has been accomplished as planned and which pending tasks are carried forward to the upcoming week. Check your emails, SMSes, social calendar, and planner to confirm.

Once you have the list of tasks and events for the week on hand, schedule them by the hour. Avoid making the mistake of overbooking yourself. To never make that error, ensure to leave a “Buffer Time” of 15 minutes between two scheduled tasks or meetings. For example, a meeting scheduled for 12 to 1 pm could go on up to 1.20 pm, which in turn will delay any commitments you have following the meeting. Just like “Buffer Time”, also remember to count in “Travel Time” if you know that the venues for two consecutive meetings are different, depending upon the distance.

However, due to any change in circumstances, either party might want to push back or prepone the meeting based on a matter of urgency. It’s best to confirm based on the latest knowledge than to reach on time to an invisible audience.

Like every other social animal, it is essential that we often indulge in our social circles and families even when we’re all swamped with work commitments. Schedule time for yourself too and dedicate this time strictly to things that help in replenishing your energy levels. All work and no play is a big no-no in the productivity playbook.

There you go. Executing this plan should ensure you a smashing week!
