You don’t have to “love” what you do in order to be happy at work. Not everyone manages to convert their passion or their hobby into their livelihood, in fact many even choose not to. But that shouldn’t mean they cannot be happy at what their current work. Good days and bad days aside, everyone is allowed to genuinely smile and be happy at work. Just because everyone says it, it doesn’t mean they do not work. In fact, it means exactly the opposite. If there are so many people suggesting the same tips to you again and again, there must be some truth to it. Here are those “everyone says that” tips- Walk before you start your work. Eat healthy at work. Keep a tidy desk. Take a god damned break! Dress to look good and professional. Introspect every week. The infamous work-life balance! Focus on your success. Meditate! Be very proud of yourself and believe in your work. Grab a sleep of at least 6 hours. Are you doing all of these? I bet you aren’t!

Here’s one not so common trick you should definitely try- Bring something personal from home and keep it at your desk, say for example a family photo or a favourite coffee mug or a pen stand etc. You don’t know what could remind you to smile!
A lot of times, office becomes a sad place when you hold a grudge against one of your co-workers. Just simply be more forgiving! You can do that much for your own happiness right?
Do not hesitate from asking for feedback. It will not only help you excel at work but also create opportunities of listening to a compliment or two. I don’t need to tell how THAT can make you smile 😉
Talking about compliments, do not forget to compliment your colleagues. In order to receive positivity, you need to first give positivity. You should also take efforts in order to avoid any kind of negativity at work. Stay away from meaningless gossips and arguments.
