Work is worship. The ones, who have imbibed this adage through experience, have already won half the battle. However, the other half still remains to be won. We all know how frustrating and annoying life at work can get. But it has always been about a blend of perseverance and patience. No one said life was going to be fair and if you had been expecting it to be so, and then pinch yourself and get back to reality. You and your colleagues belong to the same place and they are your competitors. So if you have the dream of becoming the leader someday, a fair bit of hardship will get in your way.
The other half of the battle encompasses how you manage to deal with those hardships which get in the way of your leadership. If you can manage to survive that tough period, then you can definitely become the leader someday. Here are some of the things you must avoid if you wish to become the leader:
Lose The Grump
No one asked you to be hunky dory light and glory in the face of challenges. It is not humanly possible to put up a show of smile all the time. So, you are allowed to have your bad days as long as you do not take it too far. Do not keep complaining about the little aspects of your workplace. It is one thing to speak your mind and quite another to lose tact and just say what you have to because you are comfortable with your co-workers. No one likes to be around the ones who always complain. Instead, if you have an issue with something try and sort it out logically, in your head first and then face the issue.
Do Not Miss The Point

Wise people talk because they have something to say and fools speak because they have to say something. Keep in mind that when you are talking, you do not give so long statements that you miss the point. That way, your audience will lose interest and you will make a fool of yourself. Do not make use of more than two to three sentences to convey your point. Frankly, no one has the time for the history that you have prepared, and it is, in all probability, inconsequential.
Do Not Keep Shut
No one welcomes a silencer. It is okay to not have anything to say on a few occasions, but never having anything to say is a red flag. So if you find yourself to be a silencer, then it is about time you started paying attention to that. Especially at meetings, equal participation is expected by each and every one who is present. Saying anything or contributing to what the discussion is all about will go a long way in making you a leader.
Stand Apart From The Crowd, Don’t Slog
Innovation is the key. To become the leader, you must know the nitty gritty of how to make your work better than the others. Just slogging from 9am to 6pm will not do the trick. You have to find your ways to make your work better and innovative. The more organised you are at your workplace, the more easily will be your work done and that will go a long way in helping you to lead.
With these few hacks, you can realise your dream of becoming a leader.
