You may be proud of yourself as a really good passenger, and are a frequent flyer too. But are you confident you’ve never said something to the crew that you actually should not have?
I love traveling, and even though I don’t always enjoy air travel, I do take a lot of flights too. I particularly don’t like the wait time and the cramped spaces. But sometimes, I do enjoy looking at how the crew manages the entire flight load of grown-up but yet badly behaving passengers.
It’s funny the kind of things people on a flight end up saying, just because they have the luxury of a call button over their head.
My luck on getting a co-passenger when I am flying has always been amazingly horrible. Let’s just say that they are the interestingly funny and weird and awkward kinds that will not stop at saying or doing anything funny on the flight.
So, for now, here are a few things I feel one should never say to a flight crew.
“Madam, can you take this bag and put it up there please?”
Why? I mean, if you are capable of bringing your bag till the airport and then getting it inside the flight, what is stopping you from stretching out your hands and placing the bag in the bin? What?

“Yes, I will switch off the phone when we are in the air.”
No, you have to turn it off now, when they say you have to. I have actually seen passengers putting their phones on silent and then turning them on the moment the crew is not around. Okay, so I don’t know about the actual facts, but if they ask you to do so, what is the problem?
“Can I get a sample drink bottle for free?”
This is something I have seen a lot of passengers do on the international long-haul flights. I mean, getting your drink like a regular person and paying for it is understandable, have as many as you want. But then going ahead and showing how wonderfully cheap you are, and asking for free drinks is pure nausea inducing.

“I have loose motions, can I sit next to the toilet please?”
You do not speak like this to anyone, not even to the crew in your flight. If you need a seat next to the washroom, ask for it politely, without giving too much information. And yes, we hope you remember to carry extra baby wipes and undies. Or stay home!
“This is so expensive.”
The crew does not decide the price of things you have to pay for up there, so no point shouting or showing off your anger there. If you like it, take it, else sleep and do everyone a favour.
Bear in mind that this is just my opinion, and if you choose to feel otherwise, you can definitely check out your landing options from up there.
