The word ‘relationship’ means differently to each one of us. Some aim for simple and easy going ones while others actually love fastening their seat belts for a crazy and wild ride! But, even if we are different when it comes to understanding the term, we can always agree that a ‘serious’ relationship is like a beautiful dream where both of you are totally invested on each other. But, then again, how much shall we invest because breakups are terribly painful!

‘Living in’ is also something that has become quite popular now. While some of us are too scared to ‘give our flower’ (If you’ve watched ‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’, you definitely know the meaning) to our better half, others take a step more and establish their own household with their beloved. Does it sound ‘Hebrew’ to you? Well, it isn’t actually unknown anymore. But, limits are always acceptable, aren’t they? So you should always consider living in under the following terms:

When You Are Sure Of Your Decision

Listen, there’s nothing like being ‘unsure’ or ‘diplomacy’ when it comes to your well being. If you are about to take a major life decision, this being one of them, being absolutely sure about the state of your relationship, or whether both of you are equally invested and ‘happy’, is very important.

Equal Participation Is Necessary

Hello, make sure your partner isn’t internally an asshole! You should know what his plans are as well. Also, don’t be forceful and needy. If it’s meant to be, it will be! But, both of you should have equal say in your relationship. If one of you is not willing to take this step, bunk it.

Discuss, Discuss And Discuss

The basic point is, don’t go around making promises when you know you cannot fulfill them. You or your partner should never feel out of place in your relationship even if a brand new one. It becomes easier to discuss when you are older and matured or know each other for more than two or more years. Discuss more than once about your current state, and whether the next step would be beneficial for you. Just beating around the bush doesn’t help!

Is He/She Responsible Enough?

‘Living in’ means a huge amount of responsibilities. Should you still consider going for it? Only if you are sure and your partner isn’t uncomfortable about the same. Give a damn to ‘log kya kahenge’! and do what you feel is right.

Yes, taking these decisions are tough. But you can only take the right decision when you and your partner know each other well. A slight twitch in his smile and you should take a step back. All the best!
