The song Bekhayali is already ruling charts in India, and now the makers of the film Kabir Singh, have gone ahead and released another version of it sung by none other than Arijit Singh. A full-length version of the song has been released in video form on YouTube, along with sing-along lyrics. Arijit brings in more intensity with his unique voice. This is the third song from the soundtrack of Kabir Singh, to have been released till now

Bekhayali is your typical breakup song, which is kind of a forte of Arijit Singh. And that’s perhaps the only reason why he was chosen to sing this version. Only the vocals change, as the rest of the music has been kept pretty much the same. Arijit’s voice however, doesn’t add anything to the song that Sachet Tandon’s voice didn’t add in the original.

The real strength of Bekhayali is actually its lyrics, which have been penned by Irshad Kamil. Its chorus goes, “Bekhayali mein bhi tera hi khayaal aaye. Kyun bichhadna hai zaroori ye sawaal aaye. Teri nazdeekiyon ki khushi behisaab thi. Hisse mein faasle bhi tere bemisaal aaye.”

Kabir Singh is of course a remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, which starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. It tells the story of a high-functioning alcoholic surgeon who has anger management issues. After his ex-lover marries someone else, he goes on a self-destructive path, which is extremely hard for him to let go of. This film had become a huge hit when it had come out in August 2017.

Kabir Singh is being directed by the same person who made Arjun Reddy. It stars Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, and doesn’t deviate much from the story of the original film. It will be seen hitting theatres across India on June 21.
