Jassi Gill’s 2014 hit song Bapu Zimidar has been re-released in the form a remix version. This track has been remixed by Aqeel Ali, and it has arrived along with a lyrical music video that features clips from the old video. This song has been released via the Speed Records YouTube channel.
Bapu Zimidar’s original version currently boasts of more than 197 million views on YouTube. This explains exactly how popular the song had become back in the day. It was definitely a huge highlight of Jassi Gill’s career.
The song is about Jassi Gill’s father not being rich enough to buy a car for him. He has moreover fallen for a girl who owns a car. Hence the lyrics, “Oho daddy ji de cash utte, kare jaave aish. Saada bapu zimidar kitho laye ke deve car.”
The new remix version increases the tempo of the song, and adds generic electronic music to it. It hence doesn’t come across as impressive in any way. The original’s bhangra-folk atmosphere is nowhere to be found here.
This release has come hot the heels of the launch of the trailer of Jassi Gill’s upcoming Punjabi film High End Yaariyan. Apart from him, the film also stars Ranjit Bawa, Ninja, Navneet Kaur Dhillon, Muskan Sethi, Aarush Sharma and Neet Kaur.
