‘Junglee’ is an upcoming action-thriller movie that seems to centre around the theme of a young man fighting for wildlife protection, especially elephants. After the release of the first song, “Fakeera Ghar Aaja”, which gained quite some appreciation, the makers of the movie have released a second song, “Garje Gajraj Hamare”. The movie is a song that celebrates the strength and pride of elephants as they spend their lives in the elephant reserve. The music video was launched on 20th March 2019 and was released on the music label T-Series.
“Garje Gajraj Hamare” was sung by Navraj Hans, Hamsika Iyer, Abhishek Nailwal and Gulshan Kumar. The lyrics of the song have been Kumar Suryavanshi and the music has been composed by Sameer Uddin. ‘Junglee’ stars Vidyut Jammwal, Pooja Sawant and Asha Bhat in the lead roles. Speaking about the lead roles, Jammwal has worked in many Bollywood and Tamil action movies, such as ‘Force’, ‘Kaaka Kaaka’, ‘Commando’ ‘Bullett Raja’, ‘Yaara’ and ‘Anjaan’. On the other hand, Sawant has worked in a number of Marathi movies such as ‘Kshanbhar Vishranti’, ‘Zhakaas’, ‘Poshter Boyz’ and ‘Satrangi Re’. ‘Junglee’ also marks the debut of the ex-Miss Supranational Pageant of the Year (2014), Asha Bhat.
Coming to the actual song, “Garje Gajraj Hamare” celebrates the strength and pride of elephants by using the words ‘shor macha hai jungle mein’, ‘ye bhulte hai na bhai kuch bhi/inse panga lena bhool hai’. The singer says that elephants are way above the likes of lions and tigers (that are considered to be the most ferocious animals) and that they are easygoing animals. Elephants can be loving or destructive, depending on the treatment that they receive from the owner. The song goes on to say that even the beasts of the jungle and Nature herself bow down to the power of elephants, which is appropriate as ‘Junglee’ solely focuses on the protection of elephants.
Being an adventure movie, “Garje Gajraj Hamare” is not a melodious song but it does compliment the earthy theme of the movie itself. The music is down-to-earth, rustic and plain, which works well for the overall feel. Jammwal is accompanied by a small boy in the movie, who sings the first part of the song. The music video takes us through their days at the elephant reserve and the elephants themselves. In all, “Garje Gajraj Hamare” is a powerful song that reminds to prevent animal poaching and save wildlife.
“Garje Gajraj Hamare” is thus a song about ‘returning to the natural world’, as per the director Chuck Russell. Jammwal has learnt the animal flow style of Kalaripayattu and combat and performed many of the stunts by himself. Though we’re yet to know more about the movie, ‘Junglee’ would be released on 29th March 2019.
