The title song of “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” is a beautiful recreation of the original song. “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” nicknamed to be ‘the most unexpected romance of the year’ has recently released their first song. As a result, people have been raving on Darshan Raval’s wonderful voice. This is one of the few romances that leave behind a sweet aftertaste in your mouth with its brilliantly-sung title song, an unconventional storyline and a cute pairing (which is actually not what it apparently appears to be).
The refrain of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga title song has been inspired by the Anil Kapoor-Manisha Koirala superhit song of the same, from the movie “1942: A Love Story” (1994). The song has been sung by the rising singing heartthrob Darshan Raval, and the new lyrics and music have been created by Gurpreet Saini and Rochak Kohli respectively. Utmost credit has been given to the original creators of the song, namely, Javed Akhtar and R.D Burman as well.
Although the original song has been a huge favourite, the recreated version is just as sweet. The lyrics have the old-world charm of the original version, and you’re left marvelling at Raval’s voice as he perfectly conveys the right emotions at the right time. There is a slight touch of Punjabi in the song, which hints at Sweety’s Punjabi heritage (as played by Sonam Kapoor).
Coming to the music video, one can guess the song to be Rajkummar Rao’s expressing his love for Sweety, and how his love remains a one-sided affair in the end. The scenes take us through the happier moments they share over the first half ending with the realisation that Sweety would be happier with someone else – and his acceptance of the same. The two-minute song gives us a perfect picture of what is to follow in the actual movie. In all, Darshan Raval has perfectly set the mood in tune for the year ahead.
“Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” features Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Abhishek Duhan and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles. The storyline revolves around Sweety Chaudhary, who is a closeted lesbian woman and how she accepts the truth before her family. The movie will be released on 1st February 2019.
