Manto’s newly released ‘Bol Ke Lab Azad Hain Tere Manto’ takes us back to the era of Independence. The music video of the song is basically the entire movie in a gist. Also, what was noteworthy in the music video is that it had minimal colours, which depicted the authentic settings of the Independence era.

The music video starts with Nawazuddin Siddiqui delivering a dialogue and then the scene shifts to him writing in Urdu. The subtleness of the music video is what captured our hearts the most. Also, the video shows many other characters in the movie. The #Mantoiyatfever can be well understood from the song itself. Manto’s free-spirited mind and never backing down attitude is what the song holds. The word ‘Azad’ which means independence has been correctly chosen as the keyword in the song and somehow, wonderfully goes with the time and era of the same.

The subtle instrumental playing in the background with Rashid Khan and Vidya Shah’s voice at the forefront is the real deal in the entire song. This set up mesmerizes the listening and keeps everybody glued from the very beginning.

Music composer Sneha Khanwalkar has done a great job at arranging the entire music with perfection. The lyrics have been provided by Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Soft and impactful musical instruments have been used such as Cello, Viola, Violin, Tabla, Harmonium and Mouth Percussion which make the music even more compact and smooth. The producer of the song is Zee Company who has left no stone unturned in promoting the piece on YouTube. Currently, the song has even reached almost 19 thousand views on YouTube.

It is always a pleasure to be able to witness Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s acting and this song specifically is a proof of that. He, along with his co-actors have made the music video brilliant in every sense of the term. Manto’s own journey and his strife for freedom would always be remembered by all of us. This movie depicts his journey in a different and interesting way, and the song seems like a well-sketched trailer to the movie.
