Awaaz.com has announced the date of its Rap Wala Show concert that will be held in Mumbai to celebrate desi hip-hop. Artists like MC Altaf and Dopedelicz will be headlining this event, which will take place on February 16 at The Habitat in Khar West. In case you haven’t heard about Awaaz.com, it is a Hindi podcast website populated by rich and varied content catering to its audiences. Rap Wala Show is one of the shows that chronicles the lives of India’s newly discovered street rappers. The website has hence decided to name the concert after the same show. This gathering of some top talent form the country’s hip-hop game intends to celebrate the original identity they have created for themselves. Among them are some upcoming artists as well, who will be getting a new platform to perform on.
MC Altaf is one big name from the line-up that stands out. This Dharavi-raised boy strings together words with utter brilliance, and his rap really succeeds in creating a detailed picture of what he wants to convey. During the shoot of the upcoming film Gully Boy, MC Altaf is said to have helped Ranveer Singh perfect his Dharavi lingo. He also has a song on the film’s soundtrack, named India 91.
Tony Sebastian, along with his Dopeadelicz crew will also be setting the stage on fire at the Rap WalaShow concert. Ths crew is known not only for rapping in Hindi, but also in Tamil and Malayalam. Their most famous break came when their music was featured in Rajinikanth’s Kaala last year. The other artists who will be gracing the stage include Yeda Anna, MAZE, D-Evil Dhaval and Maha Arya.
