Rock On, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Fukrey, Dil Dhadakne Do- all these movies have two things in common- the first, that all of them are highly appreciated and treasured Bollywood movies till date, and the other is that all of them were produced under the banner of Excel Entertainment. Founded in 1999 by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, Excel Entertainment has given Bollywood numerable gem of movies ever since.

Given their amazing track record, the upcoming projects under this studio are understandably getting cinema lovers all hyped and excited. One of these projects is titled “Gold” and is slated to release on 15th August this year. The plot is centered around the historic story of the Indian Hockey team winning the first Olympic medal on the 12th of August in 1948. The story of this movie highlights the emergence of India out of the clamps of British rule as it met the British Hockey team on field, as a free nation for the first time. Directed by Reema Kagti, the movie stars Akshay Kumar, Kunal Kapoor, and Amit Sadh along with small screen stars like Mouni Roy, Nikita Dutta and Vineet Kumar Singh.

The second project that will keep us on our toes until next year is Gully Boy. The tentative release date has been fixed to be 14th February, 2019. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, this movie is apparently going to be a musical drama, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. Seven months into the year and Bollywood has already produced some iconic bangers like Padmaavat, Veere Di Wedding and Sanju and looks like the industry has no plan to slow down anytime soon.

Hopefully these two upcoming movies under Excel Entertainment will hold up, if not raise the bar already set by the previous hits in Bollywood so far. With their amazing cast and intriguing plot, one can expect these movies to excel (wink wink) at the Box Office.
