In the case of exogenous purine, the purines are broken down and uric acid is produced as the waste product. If this waste level is high, your body gets hyperuricemic and that leads to kidney stones. Still, if you suddenly develop problems in joints, it may be an indicator that the purine level in your body is high. It is because of the high uric acid produced by purines which affect the metabolism of the body. So, where does it come from?
When you consume meat which is a fatty food, your purine level shoots up. Seafood, especially, has a great impact on your body as the body loses its ability to metabolize too many purines. Some more foods that are high on purines include sodas, beer, gravy, and yeast products. Does that mean you should never consume these foods? Certainly not. Your diet needs a slight alteration.
Switch to mushrooms, spinach, a glass of beer, wheat bran quarter cup, fruit juice without corn syrup and soup stocks of meat. These can keep the purine levels in control. If the pain is unbearable, you will have to carry a quick switch to low purine foods like leafy greens, rice, oils, potatoes, bread, nuts, fruits, eggs, and dairy products. These can bring your purine level to stability.
The key is to adapt to a diet that has medium levels of purine! Of course, health is more important than taste. So, it is okay to compromise a few of your favorite foods at times.
