Attractive packaging with promising words should never be taken for granted. Always look for the certification. In India, FSSAI tests and certifies the health supplements. If your product has this license and mentions with the number, it implies that it is safe. In other words, it is free from contaminants and gives the desired effects.

Memorize The Harmful Ingredients

It is impossible to memorize the exhaustive range of ingredients but you can just note the commonly used harmful ingredients like contaminated L-tryptophan, chromium, bitter orange and kava. These ingredients are likely to cause long lasting negative impacts on your body.

When you are looking out for weight loss supplement, make sure it does not contain sibutramine which is an amphetamine-like drug that is prohibited in many countries due to its harmful effects. If your supplement does not have them, you are good to go.

It is a good practice to buy in smaller quantities, if your doctor suggests. Also, don’t consume it on a long term.

The common practice that we follow is to take reviews from random people and go for it. Instead, make it a habit to research on reputed and trustworthy sites about the supplement or ask your doctor or dietician. Sometimes, you can also get information about the ideal dosage and benefits expected. Compare the results with the reviews and take a decision.

Remember You Are Not The Doctor

Don’t choose supplements on your own; sometimes your health doesn’t need them.
