Bali is known for its beautiful beaches and serene landscapes, but not many know that the best duck meat dishes are made by the Balinese.During my trip to Bali, I got to taste some of the most authentic duck meat across different restaurants there. Not a big fan of duck meat, I wasn’t very keen to try it at first, but I am so glad I did. Here’s a list of some of the restaurants that serve the best crispy ducks in Bali.
Bebek Bengil: The Original Place For Crispy Duck
The Bebek Bengil restaurant, in Ubud is known for it’s beautiful ambience along with the good food. The dining settings are spacious with landscaping inspired by natural rice fields. The menu is vast and there are various kinds of dishes like duck satay , duck salad or duck spring rolls, but the place is famous for its crispy Balinese duck. The duck is steamed with a blend of Balinese spices and then quickly deep fried at high temperature to maintain the delicious taste and crispiness.

A hidden gem in the middle of the city where the food and service are great. You can enjoy your food in the midst of a beautiful garden. The wide variety of Balinese food available there is served in a very artistic manner. What was different at this restaurant here was that the crispy duck was cooked to perfection and served along with some rice, prawn chips and salad. The meat was softer and the marinade tasted better than what we had tried earlier.

This place is known to serve the best authentic food, where there is a great selection of Balinese food. The portion of food is also generous and it is a favorite among the locals too. If you want to eat at this restaurant, be prepared to wait as they the place is always almost full no matter what time of the day. The crispy fried duck here is served with three kinds of different sauces. The meat is juicy, soft and mouth watering!
I started my trip and my food adventure by reluctantly trying the duck meat, but by the end of my Bali holiday, duck meat became a usual on my daily meal platter throughout my stay there, so much so that even my very last meal at the airport included duck meat!
