To replace a famous quote by the mad hatter with a word, we’d dare say “we are all foodies here”. Food is what keeps us going through the toughest of days. It somehow makes everything better and is seen as a source of solace and comfort, not to mention immeasurable pleasure. And you know what they say if they invent Biryani on Mars, we’d probably be living there by now. No cuisine has stolen our hearts so much as did Biryani. One plate of delicious succulent biryani with tender meat is all you need to make your day. There are big biryani fans , huge biryani fans and then there is Ghulam Abbas.

If you are wondering who he is, lets say, he has set some serious goals for Biryani lovers all over the world. And this man has just proven his undying love for Biryani. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer earlier this year and when faced with the greatest dilemma – to either die or live but without a stomach he chose the latter. But not before he set his priorities straight. Before having his stomach removed his last wish was for a plate of biryani! Yes you heard that right. What is death after all in front of biryani?
He is an engineer by profession from Dubai. His demand, though absurd to some has made headlines. He asked for chicken biryani and we surely hope may your biryani have a leg piece sir! Gorging on a last plate of Biryani might be difficult but at least he’d get his life back. He was diagnosed with stage three stomach cancer. After conducting a series of tests doctors realized that he had a tumor which covered almost his entire stomach. He has two kids and a wife and at the time he did what he had to do to save his life. But definitely not before doing what was important and we are proud of this man for the same.

He had to go for a gastrectomy. Good news is that the surgery was a success and he had managed to get rid of the cancer cells in his stomach. Gastric cancer is fatal and perhaps this was the only time when someone decided to fight it but not before having his favorite food. Kudos to you! Someone get him the Biryani medal already!
