“It’s the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary.” – Paulo Coelho

We often forget to appreciate how beautiful our life already is. Because, there are so many simple joys in your life that you just forget to notice. Most of such simple pleasures are either for free or absolutely inexpensive. They say the best things in life are free. Let’s make a list of things to prove that statement to be true.

An abrupt noise or a weird dream, something unexpectedly wakes you up and you’re sad that it’s time to get up already. Nothing beats pure laughter when it comes to simple joys of life. Because, it is LITERALLY the most apparent symbol of joy and happiness! But this is not about your regular laughs. Nope. This is about that GREAT laugh. The one where you laugh so hard that you can hardly breathe. This great laugh is a therapeutic experience for the body as it feels positively recharged for whatever lies ahead.

Finding Money You Weren’t Aware Of

You keep a 100 rupees note in your jeans pocket and forget it there. Next time you wear that jeans and reach out into your pocket, you find a 100 rupees note almost smiling at your beaming face. You just became 100 rupees richer by doing nothing at all and that’s really a different kind of joy.

We have all been here. Whether you are riding a two-wheeler or driving a car, the act of blazing though the traffic just before it hits the red light is almost orgasmic. Use your rearview mirror to see an entire pack of vehicles behind you stopping at the red light. You beat them! You are a winner. Yeaaaaahhhh.

Every Dog-parent knows this for a fact that the best part of coming home at the end of a long day is their cute little doggo. And, rightly so! Nobody but a dog will get so excited, wag their tail, lick your face, and dance around EVERY DAY when you come back home from work.

Going Through An Old Photo Album

Photographs are important because they are the only way of preserving old, meaningful memories. And, we often tend to go back to these photographs because old memories tend to fade into the background. But a glance through an old photo album brings everything back to you like a cold rush of adrenaline.

Do I even need so anything else? The word “chai” in itself is self-explanatory. Chai is happiness. Nothing but a cup of chai can get you started for the day, give you stress bursting breaks throughout the day, and even make a rainy day worthwhile! Chai, is everything. If you are a coffee person, read coffee everywhere I have written chai. It still won’t be chai, but whatever.

We all have our own simple pleasures in life. Few of them are extremely personal. And many, universal like the ones I have mentioned above. What are your simple pleasures? Let’s talk about them.
