Loving An Older Women: Why It Makes Sense

Men do not shy away from loving old women. And here is why.

In India, Sachin Tendulkar is a trend setter off the field too. He married his love who was older than him. Now the French President Emmanuel Macron is in news. He married his school teacher Brigitte Trogneux who is 24 years his senior. They met when he was a 15 year old student, and became a couple only when he turned 18. Do you also remember Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore?

These couples are no longer seen as odd because the dynamic between older women and younger men makes sense. Younger men treat women more equally. They have seen powerful women in colleges and workplaces, and know that women are not the weaker gender. They are also career oriented, and know their priorities well.

Modern women too are embracing their rights, and focus on their needs in a relationship, without caring for social assumptions. So, while earlier these May- December relationships were frowned upon, they make sense in fast-changing and aspirational societies.

While it still makes some people uncomfortable to see the gender equation reversed, yet the trend is picking up among commoners too. Societal double standards are dropping fast. The assumption that men want all the power no longer holds true. They do not have mommy issues too. It just makes sense to be with someone with whom you are comfortable.

There are also economic factors to this. As with rising expenses, double income households have become a necessity. So an independent and strong woman becomes more attractive to men.  Education, refinement and similar interests are more important to most people in their partner.

As they say, age is just a number. And love is blind. After all, you cannot love someone as per the societal expectations. Love is a personal matter between two people and their compatibility.
