Every day we face newer and more horrifying perils of technology. While technology has changed our life for good, it has also left us extremely vulnerable. With the advance tools of Artificial Intelligence, Face recognition and what not, privacy is now a thing of the past. And yet, every day we struggle and fight for it. While privacy in general has been under trial since a long time, we had managed to keep few things private like our own body. But it looks like we will have to do away with our sexual privacy as well.
Here’s this horrifying app called “DeepNude” that uses neural networks to remove clothing from the images of women. The app is so accurate that the photos often come out to be realistically nude. This app, in the wrong hands, can prove to be a disaster for someone else. Just imagine how easy revenge porn would get with access to this sickening application!

Even the making of this app would have involved a series of experiments on the pictures of women without their consent. Now that the app is out and accessible, women are extremely exposed to its undesirable consequences, especially celebrities and models.
DeepNude launched as a website and is downloadable on Windows and Linux. Another dangerous aspect of this application is that it is ridiculously easy to use and download. Anyone with a computer and wrong intentions can potentially ruin a woman’s life.
While the guy who claims to have developed this application might say that he is only a technology enthusiast and has no intentions of hurting anybody, the results of this app being readily accessible to public in general will definitely hurt many lives.
The application should not be made available to the public at any cost. This will only give people with wrong intentions and ruined morale another tool to destroy someone’s life. The purpose of technology has always been to make our lives easier and happier, then why roll out an application that can potentially ruin many lives. It is a question that we will all have to think upon and answer.
All we can do is be more responsible and keep ourselves away from any content that could be a product of this notorious application.
