Ranveer Singh is known for delving deep into the characters he plays. He gets into the skin of the character so much so that sometimes it takes him days to get out of it. That’s exactly what happened to him when was shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat. He got so much into the character of the villainous Alauddin Khilji that he had a really difficult time getting out of it.
Ranveer would apparently lock himself in a room to get into the skin of the character and the role took a huge toll on him. So much so that he was advised to take professional help of a psychiatrist to come out of it!
At a recent interview to promote his much anticipated film, Gully Boy Ranveer said that he would never take a role like Alauddin Khilji ever again. “I am not on that peripheri. I can’t go back there. Having done it I know how deep and dark it is, I don’t want to do that anymore or any time soon. Hopefully never, I would not go down that path again,” said Ranveer.

With the rap film Gully Boy on the verge of release, Ranveer seems to be excited and in a very happy space. It clearly reflects on his face, on the way he dresses up and the positive attitude he carries around along with his music of course! He said, “I am going through a good time. I’m very happy and happily married and I am being showered with love and affection from my wife. I am in a warm and fuzzy and happy space in life.I can’t go back there. When Khilji was offered to me I was happy even then but I was prepared to go down that rabbit hole but right now I am not prepared to go down that rabbit hole.”
That’s not all that he is excited and happy about. Ranveer is equally excited about the sports biopic ‘83 based on cricket legend Kapil Dev’s life. “I am happy and very excited that I am doing a sports film since I wanted to do that. I wanted to play the role of some kind of athlete and I am only lucky and blessed that I am playing a part of a living legend and I am a part of perhaps the most extraordinary story of human will and triumph. It is the most spectacular underdog story that you will ever hear. There is a whole generation who does not know who these guys were and the magnitude of what they achieved and how they did it and I am very honored to be a part of this,” added Ranveer.

Ranveer also revealed how out of all the films he does, his wife Deepika Padukone finds him the hottest in Zoya Akthar’s films. He said, “She loves my looks in Zoya’s films. She thinks I look hotter. There is no shield like those beards, no long hair, no layers of jackets etc.”
We’d say we agree with Deepika too! We’ve loved Ranveer’s looks in Dil Dhadak Ne Do.
